The Snow Grain Photo Library is a supporting tool for the identification of the different snow crystal types occurring in the snow cover.
The images available in the collection represent the potentially identifiable crystal types that can be observed during field campaigns. This collection has been prepared with observations carried out during field surveys included in scientificic expeditions at Ny-Ålesund and in national research activities in Italian Alps. The collection is open to the contribution of a large variety of communities.
The snow grain classification used for describing this collection refers to the IASC guidelines reported in the International Classification for Seasonal Snow on the Ground (2009).
